Tom Hoerr is the Director of New City School, an independent school in St Louis, Missouri. The school serves students from age three through to the sixth grade. The faculty of New City School began implementing the theory of Multiple Intelligences during the 1988/89 school year and has hundreds of visitors each year.
He has written extensively about how the theory of multiple intelligences can be used in schools and classrooms.
He writes a regular column for the ASCD publication Educational Leadership – The Principal Connection and his newest book focuses on leadership, “Leadership That Respects the Art of Teaching”.
Prior to working at New City School, Tom was a principal in the school district of University City. He also has taught at the elementary level. In addition to his current work at New City School, Hoerr coordinates the Non-Profit Management Program at Washington University.
