Kay Hawk

Kay Hawk – BA, DipEd, MEd Admin (Hons)

Kay was a research consultant in the business world for 25 years. She is currently an Education consultant with The Education Group. Over the last fifteen years she has worked in a wide range of state and integrated primary and secondary schools in the Auckland region, across all the deciles. She has worked extensively with Principals, HODs, Deans, Team Leaders and Boards in the areas of leadership, school organisation and building a school-wide and classroom learning culture. She has been involved in major research projects that have focussed on successful classroom practice, the importance of teacher/student relationships and how school systems can be coordinated to meet students’ needs. She has extensive experience in strategic planning, setting up and reviewing performance management systems, training appraisers, classroom coaches and professional development coordinators, conducting Principal appraisals, and facilitating professional development groups for Principals. Her curriculum expertise is in assessment, especially formative assessment and she has directed and facilitated many Ministry of Education and school contracts in this area.
