Gavin is coming to NZ in 2022…Join him for this 2 day Leadership Programme (August 29/30)
When leaders embrace learning as their fundamental purpose, they face a raft of everyday pressures that can have them feeling like they’re in a race against time. There can be competing agendas, difficult people to manage or mentor and endless tasks to tick off. While they may have initially chosen this career because they love to teach, suddenly they find themselves thrust into the position of an executive, often without the support they need.
The Five Ways of Being programme supports leaders in the development of their own leadership style and strengthens their capacity to have a major impact on learning. With many competing demands, it’s easy for leaders to forget that learning lies at the heart of everything they do. Based on the book, Five Ways of Being, this program helps leaders gain an understanding, agreement and clear articulation of what being a learning leader in an organisation looks like, sounds like and feels like.
This programme both challenges and supports learning leaders to author their own leadership story through career-changing self-discovery and practical tools. The programme leaders engage participants in the theory, thinking, and practice learning leaders undertake to truly transform the way they see their own leadership and how they help others do the same.
Participants will walk away with practical, evidence-based strategies, improved leadership skills and a renewed sense of clarity and confidence that centre on the Five Ways of Being:
- being trusting
- being brave
- being a storyteller
- being purposeful
- being growth focused
This programme compels leaders to embark on a process of self-discovery by looking inwardly in overcoming the challenges they face to create productive learning environments for the communities they serve.
Through this programme participants will;
Learn more about their current leadership identity and its implications • Increase their capacity to be trustworthy, brave, compelling, purposeful and growth focused in their leadership • Discover what is required to consciously commit to the development of both themselves and others in the ongoing pursuit of learning for all • Discover how to develop their school culture through what they think, do and say every day • Apply the ‘Leadership Identity Relationship Model’ to their own leadership practice • Recognise the environmental conditions required for their colleagues to become leaders of learning • Apply up to 32 practical strategies to their leadership, including:

Here’s what participants had to say…
From this course it has reignited the passion for being a leader. Being a conscious leader and not going to auto pilot. Teaching me some new strategies to use when I lead and help grow leaders within the team. Thank you very much! Loved the style of this course too.
I have discovered that I have dusty corners that have been shaken out and filled up with some great meaning and strategies for becoming the type of leader that I am excited to grow into. Thanks for the great sessions – I have really enjoyed meeting up and talking to new people.
A new lens to view some challenges we’ve had, you have introduced some great ideas and useful strategies to put in to our work, particularly the story telling and defining the purpose.
