ALIVE AND WELL: Developing a Learning Eco-system Rich In Wellbeing “Hear what Tony has to say”
Feeling tired lately? If you are, then you’re hardly alone. In part due to global upheavals, teachers and school leaders are working longer hours in the midst of increasingly complex issues. Continuing on this pathway will be detrimental to both personal and professional welfare. So, can anything be done about this?
Yes it can, although there is no quick-fix. A ‘wellness’ program in a school cannot be fashioned around the occasional gift of a box of chocolates (no matter how much you like chocolate). Instead, you need to steadily implement core principles that respect our differences, appreciate rich dialogue, and seek a core belief in the profound worth of teaching. It also needs you to accept responsibility for your own wellness, no matter how much you wish someone else might do it for you.
This workshop will practically address how to generate a culture of wellness that is sustainable and productive. You will be offered a powerful range of personal, classroom and staffroom strategies that focus on empathy, enjoyment, energy and emotional resilience… as well as some special processes for ensuring the psychological welfare of all school community members. And especially… this session will help you to feel pride and deep belief in the most important profession on the planet – teaching.
