BEING AN EFFECTIVE TEACHER OF WRITING: WHAT’S NEEDED BY YEAR 1-8 TEACHERS.
Want to get yourself or your school ready for a ‘great writing year in the classroom’? This interactive and evidence-based day is designed to achieve that goal.
During the day, we will:
explore in some depth what knowledge we need to hold and especially what practices we need to implement to be effective, especially for our under-achieving students.
Being effective means:
– engaging students in writing;
– helping students make progress in writing;
– helping students reach expected achievement points in writing.
– consider (albeit briefly) what we need to think about and do to establish the ‘literacy learning year’.
This will be a day of practical approaches underpinned by theory and research, including my own,
