Developing Positive and Meaningful Relationships: A Continual Work in Progress
(Year 0-3)
As you reflect at this stage of the year, would you like to have a deeper connection with ALL of your students? Would you like to have more ideas, activities and strategies in your kete to develop or enhance more positive and meaningful relationships with your children and to enjoy a more cohesive, inclusive classroom culture? This is not just something that happens in term 1 with a new class but is a continual work in progress all year!
This workshop will:
- present a range of literacy, maths, art, science and drama activities that provide opportunities for making deeper connections with our students all year round
- show examples of how providing sensory experiences, play, exploration and discovery opportunities help us to get a better understanding of our students’ thinking and learning styles
- take a look at resources that help us teach growth mindset, understanding the brain and mindfulness
- the importance of the role of the key competencies
- provide a practical opportunity for us to learn how to confidently run a “Circle Time’
- have opportunities for teachers to discuss their practice so far this year, to ask questions, gain clarification, add and enhance ideas already shared
