Graham Watts MA, BA (HONS) PGCE, COGE
From the highest achieving school in New Zealand to being selected as part of the leadership team to turn around England's lowest achieving secondary school, Graham has successfully led change, pushed boundaries and achieved tangible outcomes. His abilities in educational leadership has led Graham to become an international thought-leader on educational matters such as:
Thinking Skills and Critical Thinking
Character Education with the Habits of Mind
More Able and Talented Education
Mindfulness, Wellbeing and Resilience
Graham often keynotes at international conferences in these areas and has led professional learning for teachers in over 30 countries around the world.
As well as working in state and independent schools, Graham has leadership experience in the charity sector. From June 2010, Graham piloted The Hawn Foundation’s signature mindfulness and wellbeing programme, MindUP in schools in the UK. The success of MindUP in reducing stress, anxiety and anger whilst boosting optimism, happiness and resilience, led Graham to become the Global Director of Education and Training in May 2013, taking responsibility and leadership for the world-wide growth and successful implementation of the MindUP programme.
From October 2014, Graham has been working freelance in the areas he is most passionate about thinking, learning, teaching and wellbeing. He leads workshops in schools and colleges, audits the provision of learning and wellbeing, coaches programme leaders in schools and collaborates with like-minded organisations such as London Gifted and Talented, AISA and NESA. To date Graham has worked with educators in over 30 countries and this year is leading professional learning in schools and colleges across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
