TEACHING WRITING EFFECTIVELY TO YEAR 1-8 STUDENTS IN THE NEW ZEALAND CONTEXT
This workshop – appropriate for all Year 1-8 teachers, will focus on what New Zealand students should be achieving as developing writers as well as what teachers should be doing in effective New Zealand writing classrooms.
We will undertake an illustrated look at:
The content of a writing programme;
Instructional strategies we should use;
Ways of organising and managing a writing classroom.
The focus question will be: How do you engage and generate progress and achievement by diverse students in New Zealand’s diverse classrooms?
